Nigerian football legend Austin “Jay-Jay” Okocha (pictured) has built a diversified business portfolio since retiring from professional football, extending his influence from the pitch into real estate, hospitality, financial services, consumer goods and brand partnerships.
The former Super Eagles captain, widely regarded as one of Africa’s most gifted footballers, has channelled part of the wealth generated during his playing career into businesses operated through Jay-Jay Okocha Group West Africa Limited, also known as TGBG Global Investment Ltd, according to Nigerian news outlet, legit.ng.
Okocha’s transition from football to business reflects a growing trend among African sports stars who have sought to turn their sporting fame and earnings into longer-term investments.

According to legit.ng, Real estate is reportedly one of the major components of Okocha’s investment portfolio.
The report said the former Paris Saint-Germain, Bolton Wanderers and Eintracht Frankfurt star invested in land and property development in Nigeria, viewing real estate as a relatively dependable avenue for preserving and growing wealth.
His corporate interests also extend into financial services through a licensed Bureau de Change operation.
Hospitality and entertainment
Okocha has also ventured into Nigeria’s hospitality and entertainment industry.
He is associated with Club 10, a premium nightclub and relaxation venue in Lagos, while his wider business interests include restaurants and bars.
The former midfielder has also been linked to the importation and distribution of consumer products, with reported interests including wine, automobiles and electronics.

Despite retiring from professional football, Okocha remains a commercially valuable personality, with his reputation helping him secure several endorsement and ambassadorial opportunities.
